Where cobblestone streets meet the magic of light and culture

Lyon is France’s third-largest city. Located at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers, Lyon possesses a unique charm, combining Renaissance architecture with modern development. The city’s Old Town, Vieux Lyon, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, characterised by narrow cobbled streets, traboules (hidden passageways), and historical landmarks such as the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, which provides breathtaking views over the city. Lyon is also renowned for the famous Festival of Lights, a unique Lyonnaise tradition in which each household places candles along their windowsills, creating a spectacular effect throughout the streets. The festival includes other light-based activities and usually lasts for four days, with the peak of celebrations on 8th December.
