Course description

Course overview and purpose:
The course unfolds as a dynamic experiential journey in which participants discover theatre as a powerful teaching methodology that can enrich learning across subjects and educational settings. Through hands-on practice, participants explore core applied drama techniques (including improvisation, role-play, storytelling and collaborative creation) and experience how these approaches enhance comprehension, strengthen memory, support communication and increase student engagement.
Throughout the training, particular attention is given to the evolving role of the teacher as a facilitator of learning. Participants develop reflective practice, deepen their awareness of group dynamics and learn to use space, voice and physicality intentionally to shape meaningful learning experiences. Theatre becomes not an additional activity, but a pedagogical lens through which lessons can become more interactive, inclusive and memorable.
Great attention will be given to the transformation of ideas into practical lesson formats, this process strengthens the participants confidence in planning experiential sessions, adapting activities to different age groups and contexts, and managing time, participation and classroom energy effectively.
By the end of the course, they leave with an expanded methodological toolkit and a clearer vision of how theatre can support sustainable, engaging and student-centred learning.
