Carla Fronteddu
Teacher trainer

In 2014 Carla completed her Ph.D. in Political Philosophy at the University of Salerno with a thesis in Political Philosophy and Gender Studies. One year earlier, she earned a Master in Gender Equality and Diversity Management at Fondazione Brodolini in Rome, to extend her knowledge regarding equal treatment legislation law and gender mainstreaming, and to improve her skills related to project cycle management. In 2018 Carla attended a Summer School Summer Institute on Sexuality, Culture, and Society, offered by the University of Amsterdam to gain knowledge on cutting-edge research about sexuality.
Currently, Carla teaches at Syracuse University-Florence, CEA-Cultural Experiences Abroad, and Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence.
For many years she has been deeply interested in gender issues, which led her to gain experiences in different fields. Previously she worked as a journalist for Delt@, a news agency focused on gender topics and for “Time for Equality”, a not-for-profit civil society initiative based in Luxembourg, where she managed the blog, produced articles, dossiers, literature reviews, and conducted webinars.
These experiences combined her intellectual background with the first-hand experience of gender issues, national and international activism, and European policies and shaped her teaching philosophy. She usually integrates scholarly sources with actual “real world” references as she strongly believes students’ learning is enriched when a holistic approach is applied.
